Designer Models at NAMM

The Summer NAMM convention was held in Indianapolis for the first time this year and Hamer's designs were in force. With the popularity and success of Jol Dantzig's designer series instruments, we thought it only proper to showcase some custom instruments.

NAMM attendees were treated to some of the most gloriously appointed guitars on display, including the new "fully carved" Monaco and a "Triple TV-Tron" Newport.

Check out Hamer's Designer Gallery here for more photos and information on these models.

Hamer Spokesman Lyle Workman Joins Sting

Guitarist/Composer Lyle Workman has employed his Hamer guitars for two decades while working with a most varied array of artists. From the proto-pop-punk of Frank Black to the fusion efforts of Tony Williams, Workman has hung with the best of the best, and his Hamer collection has delivered the goods. He was also heavily featured in the "Building an American Legend" documentary about Hamer Guitars.

Most recently Workman has been tapped to join Sting's band which will be recording a new CD this fall in Italy. His first gig with Sting was a short set at "Live 8" in London, where they laid down Sting's most rocking set in recent memory.

As a side note: Workman's soundtrack for the movie "40 Year Old Virgin" is the season's hottest ticket. Nice Work Lyle!

Judas Priest's K.K. Downing, Legends Collide

One legend deserves another, and that's exactly what's happening on the new Judas Priest tour. Long time Hamer devotees K.K. Downing and Glen Tipton are treading the boards with their trusty arsenal of Hamer guitars just as they have done for over twenty years!

Recently, K.K. picked up his latest Hamer (a Vector Korina) while visiting Connecticut. The guitar was instantly pressed into service onstage, as Priest continues to rock America.

Hamer Honors Grand Ole Opry with Monaco "3-80"

Commissioned to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry, the Monaco 380 is completely handmade in New Hartford, Connecticut and features a custom mother of pearl “Opry Inlay” fret markers and “80th Anniversary” headstock inlay.

The guitar, commissioned by the Grand Ole Opry, is finished in a custom “Shiraz Red” lacquer finish and is hand bound with Italian ivoroid. The Monaco 3-80 comes with a form-fitted hardshell case. The guitar can be seen on Country Music Television ad spots featuring Pam Tillis.

Guru Tour Rolls On

Hamer's Guru Tour featuring Jol Dantzig continued to roll across America this summer with stops in Michigan, New Jersey, Colorado, Washington, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Ohio and Arkansas.

The tour brings a multi-media presentation of Hamer's history, heritage and accomplishments. The presentation highlights Jol 's design philosophy—the light that has guided the company for over three decades.

Each event is held at one of our top dealers and is an opportunity for guitarists to get a first-hand look at Hamer's new product; and meet the company's founder and designer in person. In this way, Jol continues Hamer's tradition of working closely with each customer to design their "Ultimate" Hamer.

Coming up, the Guru Tour heads to the west coast and continues through the midwest. We hope you get a chance to attend one of these great events, and experience the legend.

What People are Saying:
Russo Music, NJ -
What a great night we had when guitar building trailblazer Jol Dantzig came to Russo Music Center. He spoke about the history of his company, Hamer Guitars and the team that makes his fine instruments. We learned about the quality materials and sophisticated techniques the company uses in making some of the nicest boutique guitars on the planet. After his talk, Jol hung out and answered questions, signed autographs and handed out free DVDs about the history of Hamer Guitars. All around cool dude, that Jol Dantzig. Thanks Jol, for sharing your expertise and insight with us!
